I have been really excited for Valentines Day for over a
month now. Since finding my joy I have
wanted to spread it around and a day dedicated to love seemed the most
appropriate time to do just that. I saw
an idea on pinterest where you make valentines for everyone in your house for 14
days; each day you write something you love about them and put it on their door
with a piece of chocolate. On the last
day you put their gift there for them to find as well. Given the amount of people in my home this
became both daunting and exciting.
Despite our being sick, (like we were gonna hang a
"plague" sign on the door sick) I have continued to do this each
night. I have been down for about 5 days
now, and when I was finally up and opened the shades in the house, I saw that a
tornado had hit my house in full force!
But what kept me from crawling back into bed was the Valentines taped
all over my kids doors...I have love all over my home!!! I love this more than I can say, it is a ray
of sunshine that shines through the fungus that I am sure is growing in my
brain!
I am also planning to make a pink lemonade cake and a love
potion for my family as well! This new
joy has made me want to do things that are completely out of character for me,
like bake. My husband bought me a living
locket from origami owl for my gift, and I love it so much that I don't ever
want to take it off!
I feel so full of love right now and I am so happy that I
can share it with my family. I told my
husband that my goal was to have our house full of love and hearts by the time
the 14th comes around. I am pretty sure
that I can accomplish it!

The cake stuck to the bundt pan and broke apart, so by the
time I got the frosting on it looked like a giant pink cow-pie! So that didn’t turn out well, granted it
tastes awesome, but nowhere near as pretty as the one on the internet. The love potion turned out to be fantastic
though, so at least something turned out good.
And I got to use my new punch bowl that my husband bought me…yes, I am
really excited about the fact that I have a punch bowl of my very own!! I told my husband that he domesticated me.
So here’s to Valentines Day, and Love! May we spread it as freely as we feel
it. And here’s to being domestic, may our
cakes turn out better than giant cow-pies!
